Maori Language week

Last week was Maori Language week and as a class we discussed what we thought were the basic vocab in Te Reo that every New Zealander should know. After much debate we decided that everyone should know how to count, identify colours, name the parts of the body, the days of the week and greetings. So the class designed posters to help teach people the basic vocab of these areas. Here are some of our posters.

Congratulations to all the children who wrote and presented speeches this week, it's been great to see such a range of topics from fairytales to aliens, from the inner workings of a pigeon to saving the planet. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to each and every one.

A BIG congratulations to Giselle, Lisa, Johaan, Siraj and Alessandra on making Room 4's top 5! Good luck to Lisa and Giselle who will representing our class at the syndicate speech finals on Wednesday!

Congratulations Siraj

Congratulations to Siraj and the rest of the waste wise team who did an amazing job organising and judging the Trash to Treasure competition. It was a lot of fun and really made people think about creative ways for people to reuse their waste.
